Following on from a successful French-American Innovation Days on Heat and Health organized at the University of Arizona in November 2025, we propose an international symposium on The Future of Breathing in a Warmer, Drier World to be held at the UA in November 2026. The goal of the meeting is to bring together world-class experts from CNRS-affiliated laboratories in France and the UA to present cutting-edge research and discuss new avenues for collaboration and funding opportunities.
The meeting will address exposure to and health impacts of airborne contaminants in the context of climate warming. The research presented will cover:
- The identification and quantification of exposures,
- The biological mechanisms by which exposures impact health,
- Modeling and predicting health risks,
- The development of strategies to adapt to and mitigate health impacts.
