Applicants may request up to $50,000 to spend on activities leading to extramural proposal submission for international research and development projects. An international collaborator and/or institution is required and must be documented in a letter of collaboration or support; those that have matching funds will be given priority.

The purpose of an IRN is to structure an international scientific community around a common theme or research infrastructure. It promotes the organization of international workshops, seminars, and thematic schools organized by network partners in France and abroad. Duration of 5 years, total amount comprised between €50,000-€75,000 over the duration of the project.

IRPs are collaborative research schemes between one or more CNRS laboratories and one or two laboratories from foreign countries. They strengthen previously-established collaboration through short- and medium-term scientific exchange. They are aimed at organizing working meetings or seminars, developing joint research activities including field research, and supervising students. Duration of 5 years, total amount comprised between €50,000-€75,000 over the duration of the project.
